3. PawBook does not replace the vet
PawBook is not a veterinary service, does not offer veterinary diagnosis and does not replace the care, advice, diagnosis or treatment of a veterinary professional.
The insights, alerts, interpretations, summaries, guides, nutrition analyses or recommendations shown by PawBook are informational and are based on the information recorded by the user or on the app's internal rules.
In case of an emergency, worrying symptoms, worsening, medical doubt or any situation related to a pet's health, the user must contact a vet or an emergency veterinary service.
The user must not delay or avoid veterinary care based solely on information shown by PawBook.
4. Responsible use of information
The user is responsible for the information they enter into PawBook.
The accuracy of records, insights, summaries or reminders may depend on the entered data being correct, complete and up to date.
PawBook can help organize information, but cannot guarantee that all entered data is correct or that interpretations are applicable to every case.
5. Health, medication and vaccines
PawBook may allow logging information about medication, vaccines, symptoms, conditions, vet visits and other data related to a pet's health.
These records are for organizational and tracking purposes.
The user must always follow their vet's instructions regarding treatments, medication, doses, vaccines, checkups and any clinical decision.
PawBook must not be used as the sole source for making medical decisions about a pet.
6. Nutrition and OCR
PawBook may allow analyzing nutrition labels using on-device OCR and internal rules.
This analysis is informational and may depend on image quality, detected text and the information available on the label.
PawBook does not guarantee that the nutrition analysis is complete, accurate or applicable to all pets.
Any significant change to a pet's diet, especially if it has illnesses, allergies, intolerances or special needs, should be discussed with a vet.
7. Reminders and notifications
PawBook may allow creating reminders and notifications related to medication, vaccines, routines, wellbeing, events or other tasks.
Notifications are an organizational aid, but do not replace the user's responsibility to follow veterinary guidance and oversee their pet's care.
PawBook does not guarantee that notifications always arrive at the expected time, as they may depend on the operating system, permissions, device configuration, battery, connectivity or other factors.
8. Documents, images and exports
PawBook may allow adding documents, images, reports, photographs, notes or files related to pets.
The user is responsible for the documents they add, keep, export or share from PawBook.
PawBook may allow generating PDFs, summaries or exportable documents. The user decides whether to save, send or share those documents outside the app.
9. iCloud, sync and Family Sync
PawBook may use iCloud/CloudKit to sync data across the user's Apple devices, if this feature is available and enabled.
PawBook may also allow sharing information about specific pets with invited people via Family Sync or similar CloudKit Sharing mechanisms.
Availability, operation and sync may depend on the Apple/iCloud account, the internet connection, the status of Apple services and the device configuration.
The user is responsible for deciding what information they share and with whom.
10. Purchases, subscriptions and premium features
PawBook may offer premium features via in-app purchases or subscriptions managed by Apple.
Payments, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled in accordance with the terms of Apple and the App Store.
PawBook may check purchase or subscription status to unlock premium features or allow restoring purchases.
Some features may change, expand or be limited over time, always respecting the applicable terms.
11. Availability and changes to the app
PawBook may evolve with new features, improvements, design changes, fixes or technical adjustments.
While we work to keep the app available and stable, PawBook is not guaranteed to always work without errors, interruptions or incompatibilities.
Some features may depend on device permissions, Apple services, iCloud, connectivity, iOS version or other external factors.
12. Permitted use
The user agrees to use PawBook lawfully, responsibly and in accordance with these terms.
It is not permitted to use PawBook for illegal, abusive or fraudulent purposes, or in ways that could harm the operation of the app, other services or third parties.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, PawBook and its controller shall not be liable for decisions made solely on the basis of information shown by the app, especially regarding health, medication, nutrition, emergencies or veterinary care.
PawBook shall also not be liable for data loss, interruptions, sync errors, notification failures or issues arising from external services, device configuration, iCloud, App Store, the operating system or the user's actions.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights that may apply to the user as a consumer where applicable.
14. Product links and indicative data
PawBook allows creating or completing Wishlist items from product links entered by the user.
The data obtained from these links, such as the title, image or price, is indicative. It may change, be unavailable or not be detected correctly, and depends on the product page at each moment.
Before making a purchase, the user should check the final information, especially the price and availability, on the original store or product page.
15. Privacy
How information is processed in PawBook is explained in the Privacy Policy.
The user should review the Privacy Policy to understand what information PawBook may handle, where it is stored and what options they have.
